Aeration

Aerating your lawn perforates the soil with small holes to help air, water and nutrients reach your grass’s roots, which improves their strength. This process helps to break up compacted soil. It’s great for high-traffic lawns or newly constructed houses where heavy equipment has flattened or damaged the grass.

Liquid aeration is another method that encourages your lawn to be its greenest and fullest. Unlike traditional aeration techniques, liquid aeration requires no digging or holes. Special ingredients in the liquid solution strengthen and dethatch your grass, keeping your lawn healthy from the roots up.

Dethatching

Along with aeration, dethatching can help you keep your lawn healthy and luscious. Thatch is a thin layer of dead grass, roots and debris between the blades of grass and the roots. Too much thatch prevents the roots from receiving the air, water and nutrients, and it can attract diseases and pests that harm your turf. Dethatching removes excess grass, roots and debris. Having this service done annually can help your lawn remain robust and full of life.

Overseeding

Lawns develop bare spots for various reasons. Children and pets trample your grass underfoot while the summer sun scorches it. If you see areas where your grass is sparse, overseeding can promote a thicker lawn. To overseed, we plant seed directly on the lawn to fill in those troubled spots, creating an even turf that supports older grass as new, stronger grass grows.

Fungus Prevention

If you see clusters of round spots that look like straw on your lawn, you may have a fungus called Sclerotinia homoeocarpa, more commonly known as dollar spot fungus. Common in Indiana, dollar spot fungus weakens your grass, causing discoloration and an overall reduction in your lawn’s health. To address the root cause and keep your lawn looking healthy, we use the RLM Dollar Spot Fungus Preventative Program. Our process involves applying fungicides five times to prohibit dollar spot fungus growth.
