RLM 2025 Company Kickoff

Spring marks an exciting time for our crews to transition out of our shop and start tackling outdoor landscape projects. Our official start date is March 15th, and we aim to complete as many tasks as possible before the Spring Rush begins to unfold.
Once our entire team returns to town and our new employees have started, we like to take advantage of a Rain Day to pull everyone together for our RLM Kickoff Meeting. This session acts as an introduction for the newcomers and a refresher course for our seasoned staff, allowing us to review changes, guidelines, and expectations while energizing the team for the upcoming season!
On April 4th, our team had our Annual RLM Kickoff Meeting again to launch our 2025 season. The entire company gathered initially as a large group to cover a variety of topics while enjoying coffee and donuts.
Topics discussed included:
- RLM’s History and Core Beliefs
- Company Flow chart – Staff Introductions
- Rule changes to Company Policies
- Certification Opportunities
- Finding the Right Employee
- Crew/Team Assignments
After the team gathering, all employees divided into 10 groups to participate in a series of Stations that addressed various subjects and locations throughout our company. Each station, presented by a manager, focused on a distinct topic impacting either the individual employee or the organization as a whole.
Station Topics Included:
- Inventory of Materials
- Proper Fueling Procedure
- Loading Equipment Procedure
- Loading Bulk Materials and Understanding Truck Capacities
- Shop Layouts & Protocols – Knowing Where to Find what you Need
- Human Resources – Taking Advantage of your Employee Benefits
- Goal Setting – The Importance of Giving Yourself a Goal
- RLM Software for Field Employees
Each station was designed to last for 20 minutes, ensuring that the presenter had ample time to convey the necessary information and address any questions from employees regarding the topic. This duration allowed for a comprehensive discussion, promoting clarity, and understanding among all participants in an interactive format to encourage employee participation.
Wrapping up for the day, the company met back up as a large group to address any lingering questions from employees that had yet to be answered.
